The Midnight Run (MNR) è un movimento urbano ideato nel 2005 dall’artista londinese Inua Ellams (classe ’84, origini nigeriane): scrittore, performer di teatro e grafico (tra i suoi clienti: Tate Modern, BBC, Coca Cola, Puma). Dal 2011, CCT-SeeCity promuove The MNR in Italia e nel mondo! Nel Settembre 2012, abbiamo organizzato i primi MNRs fuori dal Regno Unito, in due città italiane: Firenze e Milano. Nel Giugno 2013, invece, lo abbiamo realizzato a Barcelona. E quest’anno torniamo in Spagna, nella capitale: Madrid, Sabato 26 Luglio 2014!
The MNR è una camminata di 12 ore (dalle 6 della sera alle 6 del mattino) che Inua svolge insieme a 5 artisti locali e 30 partecipanti. Il percorso per la città è in parte spontaneo, in parte studiato; e durante le varie tappe o soste, gli artisti improvvisano performance che coinvolgono anche i passanti.
Il prossimo MNR è a Madrid il 26 Luglio 2014!

Nel motto del Midnight, la parola ‘stella’ può essere presa alla lettera,
oppure come una metafora per l’arte, gli artisti, le esperienze
e le persone che vivono nell’ombra della città,
nel qual caso assume una certa bellezza e importanza:
